Am looking to maintain my pom and my small golden. I do not know much about the correct way to cut/shave my pom.
I volunteer for k-angels in Houston.
I find that when the dogs are well-groomed they seem to get adopted faster. Also I need tips because all of the groomers I have asked questions are reluctant to share. I also need helpto train my pups some interesting tricks as I hope to win a contest next month. Thank you for any advice. Warmly, Sunny

our pampered pooch may truly have the heart of a lion, but perhaps you're not aware of the fact that he may start looking like one too. Courtesy of the creative and artistic skills of a groomer, many dog breeds can now feature lion-like manes and tails. You may think this cute style of grooming is fairly new, but lion cuts actually date back to the 17th century -- when the coats of Portuguese working dogs were trimmed for functional reasons. At The Groomer, your dog is the hands of experienced groomers. We specialize in washes & hair cuts for large breed and small breed dogs in Casper, WY!

So why are Maltese Haircuts necessary for your ? The answer is simple: your Maltese dog has lots of coat hair that can become matted and tangled. If not properly cut or trimmed much less groomed. Cutting or trimming your pet Maltese hair will make the dog’s coat hair more manageable. In this article, I will discuss the basics of clipper handling and how to cut hair so that you can use your tools effectively, safely, and in a way that will make your job easier. What I cannot give you in this article is talent. An artistic and careful eye is the most important thing you can have to achieve a great look, and hopefully it comes naturally to you. If you discover that you have no artistic talent in grooming your pet, at the very least your new skills will keep your pet clean and comfortable and hopefully save you some money. I am not going to get into the specific breed haircuts because I want you to focus on your technique and getting comfortable with using all of the tools correctly and confidently. Once you accomplish that, you will be able to create styles you like and also implement patterns you may see on other dogs or in pictures. Also, this approach will help you focus on the most important aspect of grooming your pet: his comfort and health.Long hair on dogs needs to be cut regularly because without regular haircuts, the dog will be carrying around tons of matted coat, leading to misery for the dog as well as the owner. This is especially important in the winter – dry air means the hair mats more easily. Pet owners who think that a trip to the groomer in the winter is bad because their dog’s weather protection will be cut off NEED NOT WORRY – we don’t do that at Love Fur Dogs. More than any other breeds, dogs with long and curly hair need regular professional grooming, especially in the winter. Clean, dry, mat free hair is a dog’s best protection from the elements. All the dogs have been groomed in a Japanese grooming style, which doesn’t follow the usual breed standard cuts and rules for grooming that we’re used to seeing. Rather, the emphasis is on making the dog look as adorable as possible – cute on steroids- by highlighting the uniquely cute characteristics of the dog. These cuts are works of art – each haircut takes hours as the majority of the styling is all done with hand scissoring. All the dogs in the series were groomed by the incredibly talented groomers from Healthy Spot in Los Angeles, CA. Many of the groomers there specialize in this style of cut and have been trained by masters from Japan. Hope you enjoy!
