is another form of flea and tick preventative medication, but this option provides protection through a monthly chewable tablet. This version may be better for people with kids or for dogs who are prone to licking a lot. Comfortis also differs from Frontline as it starts to kill fleas within 30 minutes of giving the dog the tablet. Some vets have found that the product is very effective at keeping fleas at bay, but may not be as efficient at warding off harmful ticks. Plus this medication requires a prescription from the vet, so it may be a bit more difficult for owners to remember to refill over other options. If you still prefer this option, you may benefit from spraying your yard with tick and flea preventative products to make sure you, your dog and your family stay fully protected. A product like the Virbac Yard Spray can cover up to 6,000 square feet of yard and works to kill anyfleas or ticks in the space. The spray does not harm grass or foliage and can be spread easily by connecting the bottle to your garden hose.

We have 2 dogs and 1 cat. In 1994, we had both dogs on Frontline, as we had for years, but not the cat. The cat never went outside, so we thought she did not need it.
In August, all three had fleas. We stopped the Frontline and went with Nexuum chewable tabs. The fleas were all gone by November. The tablets were hard to use and the weather got cold, so in the spring of 2015 we tried Frontline Combo. We have not seen a flea on any of the 3 since. We just got another 6 month supply of Frontline Combo for 2016. We have been fighting fleas, off and on, for 50 years now so we will see how this goes.

Yes, we would recommend using the Sentry Capguard Flea Tablets for Dogs and Cats along with another product such as Frontline
