Mario Brothers Princess Peach! Homemade Dog costume. Crown made out of cardboard with felt glued on it. Stapled a rubber head band from the dollar store to hold it on. Collar with blue jewel made from felt as well. Tutu from Walmart.It’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween—especially if it’s a costume for your dog. PetSmart just released its spooktacular (sorry) line of pup wear for October, and we’re a little beside ourselves. From a skeleton dress by Martha Stewart (and dog bowls, natch) to Disney and Muppet looks (Miss Piggy and Kermit, anyone?), your little Spot and Peanut have their outfits made. And really, we needed an excuse to show you photos of pooches in outfits. Can you blame us? (In case you’re wondering, theFashionSpot’s mascot, Beanie, is going as either Batgirl or a cheeseburger, both available.) All the costumes are in stores now.The doggie social event of the year! Our 10th Annual HOWL-oween brings out smiles as our furry friends dress up as superheroes, ghosts, and sometimes a different animal altogether. 15 winners will be crowned, and all winners will receive a gift bag and a gift card from Petco ()! Two Peanut-Butter Lick-Off winners (Small and large dogs) will be awarded as well. Entry fee is $1 for FHDP Members, and $5 per entry for non-members. Fairmont Howl-O-Ween Trick or Treating
2016 Date to Be Announced, 6-7:30 p.m. Fairmont Washington, 2401 M Street, NW, Washington DC. All dogs will be pawsatively treated to peanut butter doggie biscuits created by the Fairmont’s pastry team. For dogs donning costumes, prizes will be given for most creative and most adorable. People will enjoy a cup of “Witches’ Brew” for only $5, and a cash bar will also be available. A collection box will accept monetary donations for the Washington Animal Rescue League, and there will be a few dogs available for adoption.
