In an effort to stay fair (and prevent heart attacks), we tried to find a variety of foods at different price points. But as you likely already know, any super affordable dog food brand (you know the ones) are not always great health-wise for your pup.
But, an easy way to check out the 411 on whatever dog food you’ve been using is to search for it on . The insanely awesome site has cataloged and reviewed over 3,000 pet food products, including both wet and dry dog food options. They break down each food with a star rating and go into great detail to explain their rating, including picking apart ingredients and how the food is made. To ensure we were picking right by you and your pup, we confirmed that all of our choices meet the five star approval rating on the site.

You don’t have a clue. For your information, they don’t have the specific meat and bone meal animal listed because they use beef in OH and pork in UT and the bags are not printed separate. Also, they buy their corn from the growers instead of the elevators.
I called them and questioned the owners very specifically about this food is being made.
The original JOY was made for working dogs and when you feed a dog gluten, they have to be able to burn off the carbs. So just an FYI to anyone who has a dog they claim can’t have gluten, you’re not working them enough AND if you are paying for gluten-free food, they are taking you for a ride. It does not cost anymore to make the gluten-free.
AND FINALLY, the person who started this website was contacted by the owners and they explained what they use and how it’s made and he refuses to listen or do anything different. SO the review is as useless as your claim the dog food is. Current ratings can be found listed by their full name — Hill's Science Diet — on our Dog Food Reviews by Brand page

Prior to me using this dog food, I research & found many good reviews. So, what has happen with this brand of dog food in recent months. Diamond needs to recall and test these 4 Health foods. I am heart broken... just lost one fur baby two weeks ago, another in critical condition, and another going down the same health related path as the other two. These fur babies are my family... not just dogs. I am also a senior living on a fixed income and my vet bills have already exceed $700.00 just the past 16 days. Now, Monday the 3rd fur baby goes in for same test and that will put me over $1,000.00 for vet bills. I pray for anyone using this dog food.
