CAP has many wonderful dogs and puppies available for adoption. Also, new animals arrive every day at the shelter, so our site features only a portion of our residents. For a real canine caper, stop by the shelter, located at 17555 Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.

Some of the animals in our adoption center are Shelter Heroes. These dogs/cats are those who are in high demand and quickly find a loving home. You will notice that our Shelter Hero animals have a higher adoption price – this is because they leave a financial legacy for the other animals in our care who may need extensive medical care or more time to find a loving home. Adopted dogs make wonderful pets! So many people are told they can only get a dog with a good temperament if they purchase a pure bred from a breeder. This is not true. Dogs at Saving Grace are selected from local shelters where lack of kennel space keeps animals from being placed up for adoption. Before a dog comes into the Saving Grace program, it is evaluated for temperament and suitability as a family pet.
Our adoption fees range from $0 to $150. Upon entry at our shelters, most dogs are given a 4-in-1 vaccination, Bordetella vaccination and flea/tick treatment. Adopted dogs ages three months of age and older also receive a rabies vaccination and County dog license/tag as part of their adoption fee. Cat s receive a 3-in-1 vaccination when they arrive at our shelters (cats are not required to be rabies vaccinated or licensed in Maricopa County).

All animals adopted from Maricopa County Animal Care & Control must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter. If the cat or dog you adopt has not yet been altered, he/she may need to stay an extra day or two for surgery.

In recognition and appreciation of U.S. veterans' service to our country, MCACC's Pets and Vets program waives adoption fees for pets adopted by veterans. Adopters participating in the Pets and Vets program will be responsible for paying the $17 license fee for adopted dogs (there is no fee for cats). Veterans wishing to participate in the Pets and Vets program are asked to provide verification of veteran, reservist or active duty status. We will accept the following verification documents: Military ID, DD214 Military Discharge Certificate, Honorable Discharge Certificate, Letter for the U.S. Military Center in St. Louis or Letter from the Maryland Veterans Administration Service Program.

Our shelters take in nearly 100 animals every single day. If you are looking for a specific breed or type of animal, it is best to visit our shelters in person. Once you've found a pet you'd like to adopt, our staff and volunteers will ask you to spend some time in one of our Get Acquainted areas with your potential pet. If it's a match, you'll be asked to complete an adoption application and a short questionnaire. You do not need to be an Arizona resident to adopt from MCACC, but you must complete the adoption in person and we are unable to provide transportation for your newly adopted dog or cat. Did you know you can view our available pets online? Did you know that over 1,000 people per hour run a search right here looking to adopt a pet? Pet adoption is quickly becoming the preferred way to find a new dog, puppy, cat or kitten. Best of all, there are so many benefits when you adopt a dog or adopt a cat over buying. For instance, pet adoption will almost always be more affordable than buying a puppy for sale from a breeder or finding a kitten for sale from a litter. There are more benefits as well. Since pets in rescues and shelters usually come from a home where the owners ran out of money, got divorced, or had to move, it's common to find that the dogs and cats on our website are already housetrained, good with kids, or do well with other pets. People are finding out that buying a puppy for sale from a breeder isn't all it's cracked up to be and the stress of training a puppy is too much these days. Best of all, rescues care for their animals, and the dogs and cats don't leave the organization without having their shots and being taken to the vet. That means less stress, and more savings! So what are you waiting for? Go find that perfect pet!More than 10,000 homeless dogs and cats will turn to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando for caring, compassion, and hope through our animal shelters this year. By adopting a pet, you’re not only providing that animal a loving family and a safe home, you’re also making room for the sheltering of another homeless pet. —one that matches your lifestyle and your expectations.
